Laser Periodontal Treatment
Are you looking for an innovative and effective laser treatment for periodontitis? At Deos Dental, you will find the best specialists in the field using cutting-edge technologies.
We all desire not only a perfect smile, but a movie-star smile, yet how much time do we actually dedicate to taking care of our teeth? We believe that for a proper oral hygiene is enough to brush our teeth once or twice a day, but unfortunately, it is not so.
How many of us simply make an appointment for a dental check-up once or twice a year? We work hard, we are in a rush from morning until evening, consume various take-out foods without knowing their ingredients, and by the weekend, we are so exhausted that we have little to no time to exercise.
This is how problems start: chronic fatigue, weight gain, medical issues, and closely related, the deterioration of dental health. Cavities, tartar, gum bleeding, and this is how periodontitis begins to aggressively affect the entire oral cavity, rapidly leading us towards tooth loss.

Please meet Dr. Felicia Păduraru
Hello!
I’m Dr. Felicia Păduraru, a passionate dental implantologist, laser expert, and dedicated trainer.
My enthusiasm for life, people, and nature fuels my commitment to dentistry, a profession that allows me to express my talent and make a meaningful impact on my patients’ lives.
With over 11 years of hands-on experience, I have transformed the smiles of more than 2,500 patients and successfully completed over 1,750 arches using cutting-edge laser-assisted dental implants. I specialize in complex periodontal (gum) diseases, having effectively treated more than 1,380 such instances, and I pride myself on achieving outstanding results.
My educational journey began at the esteemed Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, where I earned my degree in Dental Medicine. Later, I obtained my diploma in Implantology and further pursued a Master’s degree in Oral Implantology at the Guillermo Marconi University in Rome, Italy. My quest for excellence didn’t stop there—I completed a second Master’s degree in Implantology through the accredited program of the gIDE Institute at Loma Linda University in Los Angeles, USA.

To effectively share the knowledge I have acquired with my dental colleagues, I became an accredited trainer recognized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity.
Given that 8 out of 10 Romanians experience some form of periodontal (gum) disease, I chose to explore this topic further and completed a Masterclass in periodontal surgery, guided by esteemed experts in the field of global dentistry.
Recognizing that medical education is a continuous journey essential for providing effective and up-to-date treatments, I make it a priority to attend annual courses on current topics related to implantology and laser technology in both specialized and general dentistry, including the Sky Fast & Fixed system.
I am also a speaker at the annual Lite Touch Conference, where I share my expertise on various applications of the Lite Touch Er. Yag Laser in daily dentistry. My presentations encompass a range of topics such as clinical courses on Er. Yag lasers, principles and practical applications in dentistry, and innovative approaches to surgery, implantology, and periodontology, so forth and so on.
For me, the Hippocratic Oath holds profound significance; I view it as a guiding principle in my work. My ultimate goal is to promote health and happiness among my patients, and each smile I help create, brings me a deep sense of fulfilment, in line with our motto: “Smile, Love, Live Deos!”

What does this particularly serious condition called periodontal disease actually mean?
You should know that it is a chronic condition that can occur at any age but especially after the age of 35 and is caused by the composition of bacterial plaque.
Basically, the alveolar bone and the gum are very aggressively attacked by a certain type of bacteria, leading to an accelerated loss of teeth.
What causes this terrible disease to occur?
Smoking and stress, a hectic lifestyle and an unhealthy diet, i.e, general-systemic factors (inadequate nutrition and psychosomatic diseases) are a major contributor.
Local causative factors: bacterial plaque.
The contributing factors are: dental tartar, occlusal trauma, dental caries, edentulism, dento-maxillary anomalies, parafunctions, harmful habits, and iatrogenic factors.
- What are the early signs of the disease?
This is a chronic disease and the first signs are hard to notice, especially if you do not have regular dental check-ups scheduled.
Periodontitis also has an aggressive variant, where the patient experiences pain, especially when consuming certain drinks and foods. However, in general, the disease is chronic, and the first signs are typically bleeding gums.
Attention should be paid to the fact that in the case of smokers, this bleeding may be absent due to poor vascularization, which can lead to a significant exacerbation in the critical phase of the disease
We would like to point out that this disease can also have genetic causes. If we had a relative in our family who lost their teeth, this condition can also be passed on genetically. Precisely for this reason, if we know that we have had someone in our family with such a condition, it should be a wake-up call for us to schedule an appointment every six months at a dental clinic.
Is periodontitis transmissible?
Yes, it has been scientifically proven that this condition can be transmitted between spouses or partners and if not treated in a timely manner, it can lead to other health issues in the body that are not limited to dental problems.
Practically, this untreated periodontal condition triggers a negative chain reaction for the entire contaminated organism.
How can we prevent this disease? Photodynamic therapy.
Oral hygiene is the most important method of prevention, and it must become a priority in our lives. Only by maintaining proper oral hygiene can we eliminate bacteria and keep our teeth healthy.
But the most important aspect of prevention is to make an appointment at least twice a year at a specialized clinic for a professional hygiene and an intraoral camera examination. Only a dentist specialized in this condition can accurately tell you the status of your dental health and provide you with the most appropriate treatment.
We, the Deos Dental doctors, use Photodynamic Therapy as a preventive method.
We proudly state that we are the first dental clinic in the country to have introduced the use of this Photodynamic Therapy as a professional preventive method.
In practice, this method has no rival in preventing periodontitis, as it is a non-antibiotic therapy that does not develop resistance to bacteria and can be used whenever needed, both as part of periodontitis treatment and as a preventive therapy.
How do we, the Deos Dental doctors, treat this condition
The treatment for periodontitis begins with a diagnosis, X-rays, medical analyses, and a treatment plan established by a specialist. The initial actions of the treatment performed by the dental specialist instantly reduce the bacterial plaque so that the body has a chance to recover.
The cleaning can be performed either by traditional curettage, which involves deep cleaning between the gum and the tooth in order to remove the pocket, or by the most innovative and effective treatment, namely laser therapy.
We, at Deos Dental, apply the treatment method using laser technology alongside photodynamic therapy, which is non-antibiotic!
LiteTouch brings a true technological revolution in conventional dentistry, with its versatility and ultra-efficiency in the treatment of hard and soft tissues. It is an intuitive and easy-to-use instrument, which provides an optimal degree of precision and an unmatched level of adaptability and manoeuvrability.
Thanks to its advanced ablation and sub-ablation functions, as well as its antibacterial effect, the LiteTouch laser utilizes light energy for precise interventions on dental tissues and for minimally invasive treatments, proving to be much more effective than traditional methods.
Laser periodontal therapy is a cutting-edge discovery that has been highly effective. It has been approved by the FDA in the United States and has proven to be very successful in scientific studies and in medical practice programmes.
Periodontitis is based on a bacterial infection, which is the cause of chronic inflammation of the periodontal tissue. The bactericidal and detoxifying role of the laser is particularly suitable for treating this inflammation. The laser also has a significant bactericidal effect on Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, which is the periodontal pathogen that triggers the aggressiveness of this disease.
The suppression of this bacteria by conventional treatment is minimal, but it has been shown that the stimulated light of the laser annihilates this pathogen, penetrating areas such as root cement and the depths of soft tissue, where traditional treatment has no effect.
Scientific studies have demonstrated that conventional treatment leaves the tissue damaged and does not completely remove the infected tissue, making tissue regeneration difficult and leading to recurrences.
In comparison to this traditional method, the laser treatment for periodontitis leaves behind a uniform line of epithelium without remnants of granulation tissue; for this reason, the healing time will be very short.
In the scenario of conventional methods, the gum typically takes 4 to 6 months to heal, whereas with the (laser) methods used by the Deos Dental doctors, the gum heals in a maximum of 2 weeks.
The use of the laser greatly simplifies this treatment thanks to the two wavelengths used: neodymium and erbium.
Neodymium penetrates deep into the tooth, where it is activated and sterilizes the at that level, being much safer than traditional methods.
Erbium, the second wavelength of the laser, helps remove hard tissue such as tartar.
This laser method does not produce thermal ablation, so there is no pain experienced as with conventional methods, making it nearly perfect.
We would like to emphasize that there are no contraindications for this method, and we invite you to our clinic to demonstrate the professionalism of our doctors and the efficiency of these cutting-edge technologies.
At Deos Dental, we restore your confidence, self-esteem, social life, chewing ability, and good mood.
